46 Weeks (paid monthly/12 months) Payment Package

OUR LESSON “YEAR” IS A 46 week year spread over 12 months from time lessons start, building in 6 weeks for vacation and other days off.  This DOES NOT include WINTER BREAK in December through January,  SPRING BREAK when schools are closed, or national holidays when schools are closed.

*No Lessons on National holidays including:  Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving.  Typically, no lessons are scheduled on October 31 for Trick or Treat when it falls on a weeknight.  These days can be  rescheduled or counted as a vacation day.

Prices start at $130 monthly for 30 minute weekly lessons

The 46-Week plan is our best value, with discounted rates for a year-long commitment to lessons from the month a student has the first lesson.  THIS RATE INCLUDES LESSONS OVER THE SUMMER MONTHS. SUMMER LESSONS ARE FROM MID-JUNE through MID-SEPTEMBER

Lessons and lesson payments continue over the summer, and payments will not be suspended during this time.  If a student cancels auto-payments for the summer months, but wishes to resume lessons in the Fall, they will not be grandfathered at a lower monthly rate, could  lose preferred time slot, and also back charged for remainder of SINGLE LESSON RATES for lessons over previous months.

When new students (school age child or adult) sign up for monthly lessons, a 3 month minimum commitment is required at this rate.   If lessons continue past 3 months, the same policy applies for payment over summer months.

STOPPING or SUSPENDING LESSONS

Four-week (one month) notice is required if you wish to stop lessons and discontinue payments. Tuition fees WILL NOT BE credited if lessons are stopped during a payment cycle.  Our *Lesson Agreement outlines terms and conditions.

For students who have taken lessons for more than one year, A ONE MONTH NOTICE IS REQUIRED FOR STOPPING LESSONS.  You will be charged for the next month without a previous month, 4 week notice.

For the 12 month 46-week plan, discontinuing lessons before the year is up, can result in back-charges for the remaining hourly fee of the full tuition for lessons taken to the point you leave.

Special circumstances and situations will always be taken into consideration.  It is preferable to have us suspend lessons if you wish to reinstate or continue lessons at a later time without penalties.

*LESSON AGREEMENT

New Students receive a LESSON AGREEMENT to sign with payment and school policies upon enrolling for lessons for the 46 week/12 month Lesson Package.  (scroll to the end of the page for the full LESSON AGREEMENT.

DENLEE MUSIC SCHOOL GENERALPOLICIES

LESSON CANCELLATION AND MAKEUP LESSON POLICIES

24 hours (or more) notice is required for re-scheduling a lesson that must be missed because of a schedule conflict.

We exercise as much flexibility as possible for rescheduling makeup lessons.

In the event of illness or last minute emergency,  makeup lessons can be arranged with a grace period until the end of the month. Individual circumstances and frequency of missed lessons will be taken into consideration for rescheduling missed lessons.

Make up lessons can be made up on a different day the same week, including on a  Friday before 6 PM.  In some cases, a longer lesson or lessons can be scheduled the over subsequent weeks.  Each individual situation is taken into account.

CANCELLING AND RESCHEDULING LESSONS

In the event of illness or a last minute situation – PLEASE TEXT your teacher.

If you know in advance about  upcoming plans where lessons will be missed,  please SEND A TEXT MESSAGE  to inform the teacher; a missed lesson can be rescheduled or counted as vacation time.   Students can also inform teachers at their lessons that they will be missing a lesson due to vacation or other plans, to be confirmed later  with parents.

Students are responsible for any and all scheduled lessons, whether they attend lessons or not, and if they remain on the schedule and do not give notification of missed lessons or of stopping lessons.   Prepaid tuition is not refundable.  Lesson Reminders are sent by text for rescheduled lessons in the event of holidays or other makeup lessons.  Reminders are not normally sent weekly for regularly scheduled lessons.

Teacher Absence

Teachers will inform students/parents by text if they must cancel lessons because of illness, vacation or other time off;  teachers will reschedule makeup lessons when they cancel a regularly scheduled lesson.  (Please note that there are NO TUITION REFUNDS).   There are NO LESSONS over Winter Break in December through January 1. Teachers may be available over SPRING BREAK for makeup lessons.

RECITALS (TWICE YEARLY)

Lessons at DenLee Music School include 2 yearly student recitals.  Recitals are an important part of the music lesson experience. WE DO NOT CHARGE RECITAL FEES.  Student participation is voluntary and not required.

Two recitals are held each academic calendar year, a Winter Holiday-Christmas Recital  ( 2nd or 3rd Sunday of December) and a SPRING RECITAL (late May before Memorial Day or early June before school is dismissed for summer).  Recitals are scheduled on Sunday afternoons starting promptly at 4PM and last between 1 to 1 ¼ hours.

STUDIO, ONLINE, IN HOME LESSONS

STUDIO LESSONS - Most lessons are scheduled “in-person” at our studio location in Ambler, PA,  We are a home based music school and recording studio in the borough of Ambler.    More information on *Studio Lessons below.

ONLINE LESSONS are also offered as an alternative when an “in-person” lesson must be missed for inclement weather or other reason.  More information below.

IN HOME LESSONS - There are limited opportunities for lessons at students’ homes .

More information below.

*STUDIO LESSONS

PLEASE ARRIVE AT SCHEDULED TIME, rather than early.  Also, late arrival cuts the student’s lesson time short.

Arrive no earlier than a minute before the scheduled lesson.  Early arrivals please wait in your vehicle until scheduled lesson time.

Piano and vocal lessons – use the front door and ring the door bell

Guitar Lessons – enter at the driveway entrance (at bottom of drive where recording studio entrance is located).  ENTER  no more than one minute before SCHEDULED LESSON TIME.  No early arrivals, please.

SHOES OFF  — after entering the building please remove shoes  before entering the lesson area.  You may wish to bring  “footies”, slippers or socks – no bare feet please !

Student drop off and pick up – there is plenty of free parking on the street.  Parents can either come in the studio while a student has a lesson (to observe; or we have WiFi in a comfortable waiting area); or can drop the student off and pick up at the end of the lesson.

ONLINE LESSONS

Available when road and weather conditions are not safe for travel, if a student is not in the local area, or if it’s more convenient to meet online rather than in-person.

The ZOOM platform is generally used for online lessons.  Students schedule a Zoom lesson through their personal accounts for better results.   We can discuss the best platform for online lessons.

Technology needed for online lessons include

·        Good WiFi connectivity

·        A up-to-date laptop or cell phone with good connectivity

Needed by student for ONLINE LESSONS

Please have items by your instrument, including

PENCIL AND ERASER – COLORED HIGHLIGHTER – optional POST IT NOTES or TABS (to mark pages for weekly practice)

Position the camera of your device so that the student can easily see the teacher to the front or side of the piano (NOT to the student’s back), and full frontal view for guitar/ukulele, and so the teacher can see the instrument and student’s hands.

PLEASE BE AWARE OF BACKGROUND NOISE –the student should be in a silent area, free of background noise, including family members talking, kitchen or other normal household sounds.  These sounds make hearing  and concentration difficult during the lesson.

PARENTAL PARTICIPATION  may be REQUIRED for YOUNGER STUDENTS (age 6-8) during the lesson for help .

 IN HOME LESSONS

There are limited opportunities for lessons in your home.    Earlier times are available weekdays 11am-3pm, and possible evening times after 6pm. Higher tuition rates charged for In home lessons cover travel time.  A window of 10 minutes past scheduled lesson time is allotted in consideration of traffic.  Online Lessons can be conducted for inclement weather, or makeup lessons can be arranged if possible.

LESSON AGREEMENT

We ask students over 18 or parents/guardians to read through the following Lesson Agreement.  You’ll be asked to sign printed copies, one for DenLeeMusic School, and one for your records.
